Definitely interested in more sports ball variants! Maybe something with an American football? This is a very rough sketch from an icon + my finger-drawing, but you could probably use the laces. Something along the lines of:

Love the crossword concept – for a final version you may find that crossword nerds (like me) take issue with the grid not following standard crossword rules, e.g. words under 3 letters long, and out of order numbering.
For reference, this very bad mockup uses a grid that is more “realistic”:

Yeah there is a lot of iconography in sports that should be able to inspire some great icons and more themes etc. Will try to plan some new content to make future sports/gym days more exciting.
And noted / thank you @gatu. Kind of interesting because I feel like your version would work better for actual crossword fans, and maybe David’s reads more ‘iconic crosswords’ to people less familiar? Hmmmm!
