I need that tennis icon! I realize this is asking a lot, but I’d love a grass and hard-court version, too! 
This is perfect for today’s 40th anniversary of the Mac (well, along with the Mac ‘84 icon already in the app 
).

We had a take on this I wasn’t quite happy with but I think your direction includes some better ideas for us to consider on a second pass!

I like the cut out in metal… makes me wonder if a white check variant could also work softly lit as an homage to the lit apple logos on laptops.

David made a spellbook icon today, will go in future potter days in the shop etc.
We’re thinking some variants on this basic ‘journal’ silhouette of an icon could be good. Open to ideas there!

Loving the app! Are there any aviation-themed icons in the works by any chance? I can imagine something like a plane taking off 
looking like the Clear check mark

The front of a plane filling the whole icon, with a little dirt in the windscreen (with a checkmark shape)!

None yet, but I agree it’s a theme we should try to fill in with the right one. Clear is great for trip planning, packing lists etc.!

Been leaning pretty heavily into more ornate/whimsical icons so far but I do think there would be solid demand for a strong variety of simple but different styled icons along this line too. (The 80s logos style ones also sold quite well.)
Got a little sidetracked with David on some widget design / a theme set but I think next week he’ll be back more focused on icons. He did produce another ‘Journal’ variant, this one might be kind of localized in nostalgia:

We have one pocket watch app icon that tries similar with the hands for check, but it’s ripe for variants. I’ll have to do some research there at some point not being a watch guy… Maybe a Casio retro digital watchface one etc. Would be curious on the top 3 to reference or homage that would get timepiece geeks really going etc.
And gotta say I wonder if we should save some good ones up for a possible future Clear Apple Watch release too! But that’s like, not even on our roadmap quite yet.
