I would love to see Clear on Mastodon.
@mdtolic: I can’t comment on your situation or experience, and I definitely know what you mean in your post, but I have found Mastodon to be a fresh start in terms of who I follow and what types of content I am exposed to. I immediately curated my list to a small group of a. people who generally act like adults, b. people who can write, and c. people who offer content that I find valuable and interesting. Those three qualifications might seem obvious, but I think it’s easy to get caught up in something like Twitter and all of its users’ awful takes and inability to truly consider their words.
Additionally, some people are just better in other arenas. Neil deGrasse Tyson, for example, is a terrible and condescending social media user, but I enjoy reading his educational books. Not everyone should be on social media, and the fact that this is often ignored creates a toxic environment. With a little initial effort, though, I can now say that I sincerely enjoy going on Mastodon once-a-day-or-so to see what my followed list is saying and boosting. I don’t know if any of this would help you, but just some food for thought either way.
