I have a similar visual bug in the shop, there were 3 fonts available today and they look like this after “purchasing”.
Thank you both, passing this exchange along to the team!
Bestselling Icons. Todoro purchases “Clear Notes” and everything below that is out of step (Instalist is Todoro and so on).
Just sharing some leather themes David was working on today, obviously WIP and placeholder names etc:
I think these will be very popular!
Plus bonus corkboard:
@phillryu can you make the seamless textured themes scroll along with the list all the way? Should be easy to if it’s a seamless tiled texture? It would feel better than a glass wall of text over static bg.
We will definitely be looking into tiling support so it follows as you scroll. (Well to be honest we have started looking into it and paused, will get back on it sooner than later!)
If it works particularly well for some pre-existing graphic themes we’ll consider updating them. Don’t want to upset some customers with changing what they bought, but I could see for a few themes the tiling being the obvious right match.
Let me know if this is fixed, I just made a new/duplicate entry for the shop. I feel like if I live edit there’s a tendency for this issue to crop up.
Nevermind I spoke to soon, I see the issue myself and this didn’t fix it. Hmmmm!
I feel like the Field Notes dot paper textures especially make more sense if they scroll with the list
We will definitely try this set when we get back to the tiling experiment.
I pulled the trigger on Terminal Smith earlier. Can anyone recommend any good ‘computer terminal’-style fonts within Clear to pair with it? I’m thinking something with scan lines would be perfect:
RE: Heatmap day, one thing I’ve noticed is that in the Shop, heatmaps are stretched over about five screen lengths. This makes it really tricky to judge how the full gradient will look before purchasing. Compare this to wallpaper themes (which admittedly don’t have to stretch dynamically based on list length) that show you the full extent of the theme all on one screen. In the Shop, could you force an image of the selected gradient theme to remain static in the background while the Shop items scroll over it (like wallpaper themes do when previewed)? This way you could see the full gradient on one screen, end-to-end.
I think this should be at least relieved a little bit with the rollout of proper sublists for top sellers etc. this week. But I have to say I am also interested in more generally solving this, there was a suggestion in the forums of adjusting heat mapping behavior for long lists to gradient more at the top. I think this could make some good sense…
Look for the top fonts list in a couple days or so, that should feature a couple of our mono fonts for now that can pair. But something more DOS/CRT like that would be fun!
I think these may be the ones that convince me… Wallpaper textures that look like gradients! The perfect combination…
@phillryu when you guys figure out the tiled seamless texture scrolling with the lists (instead of static), would love to see plain paper ones (preferably with off white shades like Moleskine)to use as diary themes.
Been digging back into my purchased themes today and found some amazing ones I never got a chance to use. The non-graphic theme work with some of them in the past is absolute genius.
FYI, several of the Top Graphic Themes are mismatched today in the store when you click on them.
I think this should be fixed now, we had an off by one error with a second copy of the oreo icon I had accidentally included.
@VO3 yeah I’m sure we’ll get there, kind of the graphic equivalent of minimalist themes etc.
The closest I can find is Chicago FLF, though I don’t believe any of the fonts have the scan lines.
Thank you btw, I saw your note earlier and it was helpful. Fixed it! Was just dealing with a morning wave of emails from Clear 2 beta users who had it expire on them overnight.
(There is no secret beta, these were people still on the original 2.0 beta.)
