Clear for Apple Watch TestFlight

Thank you @Klippityklop & @phillryu. I see the area for the watch, but I am unable to toggle it on

When I try to toggle it, it says unable to install.

Ok weird!

I’m using that beta and the watch app installed as it should when toggled on or if installed via the watch iPhone app. However I just installed the release version of clear to check for new themes and went back to install the TestFlight beta. Noticed the watch app didn’t reinstall and I’m now getting the same message you are.

I’ll play around and see if there’s something that can be done. Phil may have to look into it as perhaps it’s an iOS 18 release issue though I’ve been running iOS 18.1 betas and no issues till now.

To add: I tried closing the app and opening. Also tried rebooting both devices. No luck! I also tried installing a different TestFlight app I use for workouts and it did install. Wondering if this might be an iOS 18 or watch OS11 issue.

Can you try rebooting the watch and see if it works then? It is strange that it’s installing for some but not others.

Rebooting the phone and watch did not allow the show on Apple Watch toggle to turn green. I am running 18 on my phone. Is there a way to confirm that I am using the latest / correct TestFlight?

@phillryu - is this the latest TestFlight? If so, it is not working on new latest Apple Watch after reboots and reinstall on both watch and phone.

Yep that’s the correct build. I will probably push an updated on early next week, but there wouldn’t be changes to the watch app. Let’s see if anyone else is having issues on this thread.

@Klippityklop any luck solving your Apple Watch TestFlight installation issues? Super bummed that I just got the new Apple watch yesterday, so excited to be able to finally test out Clear….still unable to install.

Sadly no luck so far and I’ve messed with about every way I can think of. I’m gonna try to delete the app completely (with a backup of course) and see if installing the Testfight version without any previous installs will help. I have my doubts but I’ll give it a go.

@phillryu does the backup still work or was that removed for any reason? I know there was a tiny pic link or something but I haven’t completely removed both versions before so as not to lose data in the past.

It should be working if iCloud Drive is turned on. You could use the old support link to be safe, though that will just export your lists + themes I believe, missing some other stuff.

clearx://export-data (copy/paste this link into Safari)

Ahh ok good deal. It’s on for iCloud Drive. Ya it’s definitely not worth losing themes, icons, fonts, etc. I’ve collected to many goodies over the years haha!

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the update @Klippityklop. After you reinstall, can you please share your results with us?

I certainly will. No problem.

Update: No luck on my end. Tried everything I could think of. Rebooting both devices, reinstalling the app beta, etc. Was hoping the release of 18.1 beta 5 yesterday would somehow shake the issue but I’m getting the same unable to install notification.

There is a Clear TestFlight out today. Version100.0.0 (9220). I can confirm it will allow for the Apple Watch app to install correctly. At least on iOS 18.1 beta 5 so I’m sure it’s fine for anything prior.

Thank you @Klippityklop. Yes, it worked on mine as well.

That’s great to hear. We did update some things I think that the latest OS might’ve required, so hopefully it did actually fix something!

Wow, absolutely loving Clear on the Ultra, finally @phillryu good work!

When will the font styles be made available on the watch?

Please let us hide the big back arrow on the Apple Watch and the useless clock in the top bar (like how we can hide on the phone) to better utilise the previous screen real estate. Swiping to go to the previous page already works great.

They take up a lot of screen space and would be nice to hide those and have an all task screen. And possibly also separate adjustable font sizes for the r watch so you could fit in more tasks visibility per scroll.

The Apple Watch beta just expired, and I can’t seem to find the app in the (Dutch) App Store anymore. What’s going on? I need my notes. Can I get a spot in the latest beta, please?

I have just upped the 2.4.3 TestFlight cap to 20 more testers.

We are dealing with EU trader status here, I had to update the business info in some registry to get Apple to have the latest business address, and resubmitted for this status last week. Hopefully it goes through relatively soon.

I assume you had installed it from the App Store previously? You should at least be able to tap your profile in App Store and install it from your ā€˜purchase history’. Let me know on that too if you can check.
