Hey all, we have what should be a pretty close-to-ready TestFlight of Clear 2.4, featuring Clear Pro.
New for Pro: - Apple Watch app - Lock Screen widgets - Monthly Collectibles (placeholder selection)
Other changes & fixes: - Shop & Rewards have been moved into Personalize - Screenshots no longer crop corners - “Tap to add reminder” shortcut has been removed for being a bit half-baked - Fixed a visual bug that could leave extra heat mapping at the end of a list
We are planning to submit this update sometime next week, and will be back to work on Tuesday to wrap up any final fixes and polish.
I set up the link below with a cap of 25 testers. (Gotta save some spots for sync testing later on)
As a tester the beta should recognize your legacy status. You can ‘subscribe’ for free (will not carry over to App Store version) to test the new Pro features. Once the update is released you can update in the App Store to return to the shipping versions.
If you have some time to help test it out over the weekend please sign up, and report any issues or feedback here in this thread!
@phillryu - thanks for the opportunity to test. Loving the apple watch update - it’s working great! Are there any plans to change the color of the white Clear check watch complication to something more colorful, like the one below? Thanks
Good to hear, we could look into the complication icon thing. If I remember correctly the watch can switch between color vs. greyscale? I guess we would just want to weigh people using different themes and the classic heat mapping not necessarily matching but I’m curious what our options are.
All the other complications on the watch home-screen are the same as the icons in the app list. I was wondering why Clear App looks like this in the app list:
• I don’t have my own watch, I borrowed it from my girlfriend. I set it up for myself, it works great. No complaints. (now I want a watch for myself) lol • Widgets on the lock screen look great, everything works fine. I like the ability to cross out directly from the screen. • The Pro section looks very nice. • As for monthly collectibles, now there are only 4 themes to choose from for Pro, but there is not a single icon, I understand that this is a beta version, I am very interested in how it will be in the release version, in one month there will be themes, and in another month icons, and only four to choose from, and that’s it. Or it will still be decided somehow. • The correction of screenshots is pleasing, the fact that now the corners are not cut.
In general, the work was done very decently, everything works quickly and smoothly, without any complaints. I think this version can even be presented in the App Store.
Thank you very much for the opportunity to test it.
Installed on Friday, been using it since then and it’s all been working as expected. Watch app is great - been updating phone quickly. Using the Lock Screen widget as well and that’s working great - I like the progress ring. It’s a little jarring not having a visible way to set a reminder - have to remember to type out a day to get the “set reminder” to pop up. Thanks team!
@phillryu I’d love to take advantage of Ultra’s full screen so see my list, a large back arrow currently blocks the top header part with the list blurred. Any way to remove this (or an option to)? I’td be nice to not waste precious screen real estate.
Also Gulkave font doesn’t carry across on the watch
Is there something I’m missing?
Installed on the first Ultra on version watch 11.3.1
And can’t seem to swipe off a task on the watch clear app
Every time I try this it goes to text on the watch and then I get a notification on the iPhone pro to add and if I add the text on the iPhone it does add a task to clear which is cool but I can’t seem to swipe tasks as done or hold to move
We do want to improve on the reminder trigger, the latest idea is just a visible toolbar above the keyboard with some options, posted an early sketch mockup here:
@VO3 yeah the watch doesn’t currently support custom fonts, this is something we would like to support eventually, for widgets too, but will require some real work with how the fonts can change the layouts
There’s some potential for a more custom UI/UX but for now we did want to start grounding it in the native back bar and such. It’s such a tiny screen I think it would quickly be overwhelmed with going all custom gestures.
@Aussiebob it is definitely stripped down, but hopefully still a useful starting place. We will at some point look into the custom swipes but avoided them to start because of the smaller watch screens out there.
Also you can tap and hold to create in the Watch app btw, will note here that we can do a better job of initial onboarding for it!
@phillryu Hi Phill, I hope you’re okay, I’d like to know how the test is progressing, and what is the probability of the Clear Pro update coming to the App Store this week?
