Very very pro user here!
Congratulations on the launch!
Yes, there is a problem with the transition from the TestFlight version to the App Store version, the pro membership remains. I read about it above, I know that you have been notified about this error.
I also wanted to note that when switching from the last beta version to the App Store version, the section of monthly collectibles pro disappeared. (in this case there were four topics) and they disappeared. I decided to check if they would come back to the beta version again, so they didn’t appear in the beta version. I wanted to mention this point as well, it was not written about it above.
Interesting, I can still see the pro monthly in my app. I am having the pro membership remaining issue but I can see the Pro Monthly in each area.
I haven’t upgraded to Pro, but I’m unable to change the icon unless I fully reboot the phone.
I know this has been an issue for some in the past, but wanted to point out the bug seems to be back in some form.
(EDIT: Nevermind, after several minutes, it caught up and now is working normally)
@alx_ras ah this seems related with the TF issue, I think it pulls them just once a month… just curious but could you try putting your phone’s date forward to 3/1, relaunch Clear, and see if it pulls in a section? (And let me know what collectibles.)
I translated the date, restarted it, and this Banner appeared from above, but the section with monthly items never appeared.
Can you hit me up on iMessage? Will ask you for a log to send!
Ok
As a general update, we are currently looking into a few issues:
• Clear Pro TestFlight testers are having their membership status transferred to live app, which is not intended, and also circumventing the shop customers popup for free membership time. If this is you, please iMessage me at phill@impending.com with an estimate of how many collectibles you purchased, and your favorites of them, and I will share your code.
• EU markets appear to have different pricing which is affecting the overall discount of yearly vs. monthly option. We grounded the pricing in US $2.99/month and $24.99/yr price tiers, with Apple filling in the rest based on this. Trying to figure out exactly why the differences seem to trend to a bigger bump up in the yearly pricing. (VAT?) And we are looking into live calculation of discount for a patch.
• One report of Apple Watch not being able to sync, possibly related to tons of active lists / items in them. Will try to reproduce here.
• One report of legacy status not correctly being applied. We are basing this on app receipt, and original time/date of downloading Clear. If you had installed and run Clear before this Monday, you are supposed to be identified as a legacy user. If this affected you please iMessage me phill@impending.com with this context, so we can grab a log to try to debug!
With the phased rollout, the update has gone out to a little over 1% of our current users, plus those of you who manually grabbed it from the App Store. So we are going to try to collect some more reports/logs today as it trickles out to some more.
Thank you all for the reports so far, and the early adopters who have subscribed so far!
Thanks Phill. Will iMessage. One point on the first item (pro carry over). When I select “thanks for being pro” it triggers a purchase confirmation dialog for pro, but lists the price at $29.99 vs $24.99. I am US based. If I recall the TF version listed $29.99 as well when I (fake) subscribed in the TF version (although I can’t be certain of that).
This seems related to the TF > App Store cases. (And @reinham’s case)
@Mer did you activate the code I emailed you earlier today? I wonder what that did as it’s a legacy priced 1 year promo code. Can you check in your Settings app / Subscriptions and see when it’s set to expire, and what it displays the Clear Subscription as?
Hi Phill, here is my Clear app subscription info. I excitedly purchased yesterday - happy to support you and your team. While I appreciate the code, I was charged yesterday, and really don’t believe I have access to enter the code anywhere at this point. I am pretty certain that my subscription will simply renew at the $29.99 on 2/24/26 vs the $24.99, - unless you are able to change something from your end. I know Apple will not make any changes, as they rarely refund purchases. Thanks for looking into this.
I just emailed you about this! Sorry about the confusion/mixups here, but I’m hoping we can clean it up for you, and I can manually refund you for the $29.99. (And posted in the TestFlight thread with some new info/instructions for anyone else.)
General update: we have paused the phased rollout (currently out to 2% of Clear users) to try to debug/fix an issue where we are seemingly unable to check App Store receipts for ~3% of you, to verify legacy status. (Receipt contains the date you originally downloaded the app etc.)
This is a relatively small group but would still be a huge support issue if we need to manually help each person affected so… hoping we can figure out something!
hey phill, you know what would be a good pro feature? a recently deleted box. all deleted and cleared items would go into the box. an info about the date and time of deletion would even be more useful
2.4.1 is a hot fix update, with one attempt to fix the invalid app receipts issue + analytics reporting for it so we can see if it’s working.
It also includes a small design fix for checking off items. Previously there was a quick fade to the green row, but now it’s instant and IMO feels a lot cleaner!
We are doing a phased rollout for this update too, to see if the fix works for the first 1% or 2% who get it, fingers crossed. (In the meantime we are preparing another fix if this one didn’t work.)
@usermuser that could be useful, I’ve also been thinking for a while that ‘cleared items’ in the archive could be useful and encourage people to use this function more.
This fixed the issue on my iPad mini, I now have all Pro legacy feature functionalities.
That’s encouraging to hear!!
