Web Beta Testing

Hi, just checking in @phillryu - super excited to see when Clear web beta testing will begin - any timeframe updates? Thanks!

We’re wrapping up a next Clear update that will ship the new toolbar along with repeating tasks. (And hopefully ‘solve’ reminders for good.) This update will also include behind the scenes some syncing functionality, so things don’t totally break for early sync testers who go back to the App Store version.

Once this update is rolled out we’re hoping to start initial TestFlight in the forums soon after that. So I would say very good chance we finally start testing later this month. (Thank you for the patience on this one.)

ive been an enthusiastic supporter of this app and still am, but the web version needs to appear soon imho.in fact its already well overdue. im sure many people will have tried clear, found this lacking, and moved on, with no reason to come back, which is a shame.

in my case, im likely to stick to clear for personal use because I like the vibe of the app, but work wise, which is my main todo use, ive waited too long on web access and have moved to use Microsoft todo and it might not have cool icons and nice colors or achievements, but its built in and it works.

Yeah I feel the pressure there too, we are legitimately close to kicking off initial smaller TestFlight here on the forums. Just have to get this 2.4.3 out which has some backend changes to support it, for testers.

Hi @phillryu or @ben - any updates on the web beta testing timeframe?

Hey @Mer, we’re aiming to test sync and the web client together - they’re our top priorities right now. We’re aware it’s taking quite a while, but we want to get them right and minimize any issues that could come up. We’ll make a post on the forum when things are getting a bit closer there!

Thanks for the update Ben. Any chance that the web version will be similar to the old iPad version like this photo, where the lists remained on the left but the right was each individual list when highlighted?

Not as of now, but we are always open to discussing feedback and once the client goes live we’ll certainly be looking at what sorts of changes/tweaks to make based on your guys’ experience! I’ll note this down to start.

I’m super excited about the web version! I know I personally preferred the Mac app, but I can see that it might be more time-consuming and expensive to develop.

I’d love to give Clear a try as my main planner and lists app, but being limited to the iPhone is a bit of a bummer.

I’m curious how the app will look and feel.

In my mind, the app could have been like @Mer suggested (lists on one side, sub-items shown when you click on the other side). Can’t wait to see the first version :love_you_gesture:

Yes, I concur with everything you wrote. An app would be best, but we’ll have to be content until Clear blows up. I’d also love to see lists on the left side. I’m ready to be a tester.

Looking forward to this big time!

Any update on web and sync?

What happens with web and sync?

I would just be patient and wait for an announcement from them. I know it may be tough, but Phil also mentioned at one point this is why he doesn’t like giving out timelines because then users just keep asking what is going on, or what is the ETA.

When will the Web Beta Testing start?

Hey, we are doing some final testing internally with both sync and Clear Web - they’ve been our top priority for a while now and we’re working to get them out ASAP for you guys. We’re hesitant to provide a strict date especially with sync as we can’t fully predict what kind of issues or bugs we might encounter while internally testing. When it comes to systems concerning user data we want to make sure we’ve preempted as many potential issues as we can. Apologies for the delay here, we’re working hard to wrap things up and open up testing to you guys!
