I might be missing something so apologies if dumb question but how do I set recurring tasks as weekly/monthly?
There is no such feature, AFAIK. A recurring task is just defined as a task that comes back to life after you have swiped it done and later swiped up on the list. But if it has an associated alarm set, you will have to update that manually. I don’t know if the what you’re asking for is on the list of possible future features.
@hanche interesting thanks. I observed that when it comes back after relocating a completed recurring tasks, it sets itself to repeat on the next day at the same time. So it’s essentially daily recurring at the set time by default.
@phillryu Without over complicating this much I wonder if it’s simple enough to have it ‘recognise’ the recurring period based on the first time you set it to recur. So for eg. if i’m setting something for tomorrow, it remembers to recur daily at that time. But if I set something a week or another month from today, it then auto recurs a week or a month instead. ![]()
Hmm, I wasn’t aware of the automatic one day resetting of the alarm. But I think your suggestion is a bit too magical. I would prefer a more explicit UI, something like this:
Whenever you set or alter an alarm on a recurring item, or make an item recurring that already has an alarm set: Pop up a simple dialog to set the recurrence interval. It can be very simple, i.e., offer daily, weekly, or monthly, or it could allow more flexibility (n days/weeks/months). It might be useful to allow an option to automatically remove the alarm when the completed item is revived.
Yeah I mean a dedicated pop is of course the more obvious solution, I was just thinking if they didn’t want to prioritise more changes at this point in time, how you could potentially make it work with what’s currently in place!
