Morning all and yeah apologies about the disappointment on beta rewards not carrying over.
You’re remembering correctly, I did post months ago in the forums about how we were hoping to carry over reward progress. (We had to drop this plan towards the end with some other bigger critical todos.)
Tried to update this plan when things changed in the last email some posts here, TestFlight notes, but maybe that covers like 30% of testers who actually saw.
We have some things to get done today for official announcement + we will start sorting through issues. (Top priority is the handful of people who are having data migration issues!! Also going to quickly look into shop today not advancing.)
Yes currently. We have a half finished simple auto iCloud backup system though (not sync, just like daily backups) that we plan for early updates by 2.1.
Also quick update on the shop bug some others have reported (stuck on previous day’s stock, or no internet connection popup), that should be fixed now. It was our server plan hitting limits and throttling, upgraded and working here now.
I can’t seem to make purchases in the store. I click on an item and I get the icon or theme but it never asks for IAP and then when I head back to another part of the app it’s gone.
Swipe right. We’ll do a better job of making this obvious as it should be. (Something like the first shop item if you’ve never swiped bounces a bit revealing/prompting that.)
Congrats on launch! I am not a tech guy, but the links posted above and in another thread for the not working QR codes, how do they work? I can’t click or do anything with them on phone or PC and don’t want to miss out on my beta rewards. Cane someone explain like I’m five?
Asking about MacOS version TODAY makes me wonder what response I’d get if when being handed my first grandchild (a girl) the day it was born, I asked my daughter, “So when’s the grandson coming?”
Don’t get me wrong… I’m typing this on my Mac and I’d LOVE to have a Mac version. I just couldn’t help but chuckle a bit at the timing of the question.
The new Clear doesn’t yet sync across devices — though Ryu says that’ll come — and it’ll almost certainly never have a Mac app. Ryu says he just can’t figure out how to make a Mac app that feels good the way Clear feels good.
Personally, I think the sentiment Ryu offers there is fine. There are plenty of great iPhone apps that don’t translate well to a desktop experience, and vice versa. The team made a really great app made specifically for this general size, form factor, and touch screen. I love my Mac, too, but there’s are reasons why each device is on a different operating system. They’re manipulated and used differently.
