Clear Desktop – Early Preview

We are testing out an early preview of Clear desktop. We would love it if you could try it out and post feedback here.

Right now, Clear Desktop works only for pro users who have sync enabled.

Since this is a very early preview, access is waitlisted, and once we iron out basic issues with the early crowd, we’ll start opening it up to a larger batch.

Here’s what you get with the desktop version:

• Window background syncs to your current list’s theme color — no color flash when switching lists

• Designed to be snappy.

• Cmd+1–9 jumps directly to any of your top 9 lists. Hold Command and a floating bar at the bottom shows which list is on each number

• Offline badge appears in the top-right corner when you lose connectivity

• macOS title bar integration: drag region, traffic lights at the right position, content doesn’t clip under the chrome

• Your list open preference is persisted. If you close the app and reopen, you should see the previously opened list.

There is also a Vim mode for people who prefer staying on the keyboard:

To activate this when you are within a list, go to the escape mode and type in :vim and enter. This does not work in list-of-lists mode (for now).

To quit the Vim mode, go to Escape mode within a list, type in:quit and enter.

• j / k — navigate tasks

• i — enter edit mode

• o/O – add task

• x — complete task

• u — undo

• Space + j / k — reorder tasks.

Having this issue. Able to actually bring up the lists behind the splash screen but once I hit ‘OK’ it goes to the ‘We need your email’ screen. Also, pressing log in with passkey seems to not do anything.

Did you log in with the same email ID in the Clear iOS app? This is likely due to Apple’s privacy email.

If you can pass me your email for iOS app login, I can check in our backend.

Getting the same thing re: Apple didn’t share your email. Happens after I log in using my Apple account. Didn’t see any setting option to share my email.

We discovered an interesting scenario that wasn’t a concern for us until now.

It looks like a few of you registered to be Clear Pro users before we had the ability to store email IDs and map them to the user ID.

So when you try to log in with your email ID, it isn’t mapping to any valid account.

We’ll be releasing a fix for this pretty soon.

Also, the Sign In with PassKey options doesn’t do anything when you click on it

I downloaded via link above on macbook pro 2025 on latest OS. I have a pro a/c but I get this screen once logged in?

I am in and using the desktop app. I like it better than the web app. Sync is working perfectly as are the quick list command+# switches. I did not initially see a floating bar when holding command but now I do. I have not tried Vim mode.

Actually, the floating bar is inconsistent. After seeing it while I wrote the above, it now is not functioning.
