With the action button on iPhone, it would be ideal for us to be able to create a task from it if you could add option within control center. That would be the cleanest way as to not have to jump through shortcuts application. With iOS 26 that option was added to the default reminders application.
I see we have two shortcuts for clear to add list and a task but they are not working with the current version.
Possible to hopefully get this simple request added sooner rather than later for easy and quick task adding …. if coding isn’t too intense.
Thanks for the support.
Hi Anthony, a home-screen widget may serve this purpose for you well - you can create a list to act as your “inbox”, and have the widget display that list. Then you can easily tap into it and immediately start creating new items!
Shortcut support is something we looked into towards the end of last year and found it would take development time away from sync, it may be something we take another look at once sync and the web client are finalized and released.
You can set-up the widget in iOS’s “Today View” (right-swipe from home-screen) so the list data isn’t displaying right on your home-screen all the time.
Can definitely see the use-case in the widget being able to display your list of lists instead of the items in a selected list. I’ll note this down as a suggestion to bring up with the team after we’ve wrapped sync and the web client.
