Updated app and all my data disappeared -- help!

Hi all, looking for some advice. Clear has been my most used app for years, I had over 300 lists with lots of carefully curated data. I updated the app three days ago and everything disappeared. I briefly saw a notice flash in the app saying something like “your data has been transferred” but all that shows up when I open the app is “Welcome to Clear” with no lists of any kind. I wrote the clear app folks directly and they told me to scroll down to the “archive” BUT as I said there are no options listed whatsoever. The clear app folks are no longer responding to me. I am heartbroken at the loss of all this data. Anyone have any advice? Thanks much!

First, to get to the Archive (it sounds like you weren’t able to find it), press the invisible back button at the bottom to navigate through the app.

If your lists aren’t in there, sit tight and wait for more help. But don’t delete the app in the mean time. They have ways to help you, as they did others, but it’ll be a lot more limited if you uninstall.

Thanks for your help! I haven’t deleted the app. I tried to find the “invisible back button” but it must be really invisible because nothing happens when I tap the bottom of the screen (except that the keyboard screen comes up). Appreciate the encouragement though! Beth

Would love to get in touch, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, there is no Main Menu on my app now so I can’t reach out to you through that. The only thing that comes up in the app is “Welcome to Clear” on a red background, and a red box that says Create 3 items and Check off 3 items. I have tapped everywhere on the screen and I can’t get any menu to come up. When I tap, the only thing that comes up is the keyboard. Is there another way I can reach out to you for live support? Ah yes, I believe you are stuck behind new onboarding steps intended for fresh users. If you could go ahead and follow the short steps like “creating 3 items” and checking them off, it should have you use the back button and then unlock the rest of the app! Apologies for the confusion. Once you’ve cleared the onboarding steps and navigating back out into the menu you will be able to access the Support function and get in direct contact with us :slight_smile:
