If we upgrade to Pro, and then downgrade, will our legacy user unlocks still be active, or are they all lost as soon as the subscription ends? (Obviously I’m not talking about the Pro only benefits)
You will keep the legacy features.
I will take advantage of this topic, to ask if another question: If I use the 1-year gift code for subscription provided, will I still get able to subscribe Clear Pro with legacy discount?

Correct! Legacy unlocks will continue to be available after the subscription ends.
As a legacy user you will also retain legacy pricing after the promotional subscription time has expired.

Can I as free Clear user try the Pro for some time and go back to the free version if I don’t like or need the Pro features?

Just got my annual renewal. I’m really grateful for Clear, I cannot tell you. Looking forward to it continuing to get better and better, as it has been.
I hope to continue using Clear for years to come and I’m wondering if there’s a way to pay outside the App Store, direct to the devs, so as to circumvent the infamous Apple Tax. Is there a mechanism for this currently in the U.S.?
