Can I get iphone version from about 4 years ago?

I really hate Clear since it auto updated without my consent a few years ago. The touch functionality is unreponsive and god awful ever since. Is there any way I can get an old version from 4-5 years ago for my iphone?

Can you make settings for controlling touch then because it got noticeably worse when it went to the new version a few years back. It’s floaty and imprecise. Even swiping left or right or pinching is a hit or miss affair. Originally it was fantastic. Snappy and always worked. Also making an option for getting rid of archiving so it autodeletes would be nice. Maybe make a retro preset?

I’m a bit mystified about this complaint, as I have not noticed this problem myself. But then, I had abandoned Clear for a number of years after an icloud sync problem that I never managed to resolve. Coming back to the new Clear, I have certainly not noticed what you are seeing. It’s tempting to suspect a hardware problem, but then you should notice some problems in other apps as well.

I have not noticed an issue either.

What phone are you using?

Im using an iphone 15. I was able to slightly improve the feel by messing with the touch settings of the phone. But it definitely still feels about 50% less snappy than the original implementation of the program. I never had issues with the old program and it was actually a selling point (along with the simplicity). I really would prefer options to make it like the old one. Adding an archive feature without a way to disable it seems an odd choice. Now to delete lists it’s not a simple swipe left. I then have to back out of the list menu, go to a new menu, and delete it from the archive. Consider allowing people to make it as simple as possible for ux.

Don’t think it’s a hardware issue. It tactilely “feels” different. Like it’s floaty or there is lag in response time.

I feel you. It’s not awful, it just more practical. I pointed out some noticeable features and animations that shouldn’t be deleted, but the developers is focused on his new vision. We can’t do nothing to bring back that user experience that Clear had when launched. I still like it, but is not what it was. That is my humble opinion.

All I will say is Clear has not, will not, and never did auto update without your consent. iOS doesn’t work that way. If you had automatic updates toggled on in settings you told it to update. I’m not trying to be an a** here and I get you have issues with the new Clear, but let’s be honest about the situation instead of blaming it on Clear.

This is so vague, what do you mean “snappy”?

I’m on iPhone 15 Pro and have been testing Clear for years. There’s nothing wrong with the app, you might want to get your touchscreen checked for damage or sensitivity issues though.

I’m a long time Clear user and I can definitely confirm damageINC’s experience … I’ve brought this up multiple times on this forum and to the developers. New Clear is super laggy and trying to delete old archive lists of more than a few dozen items results in app crash.

We haven’t been able to replicate an issue like this on test devices here, but will take another look. If anyone experiencing this recently can reach out directly via the Support function in-app (iMessage), or emailing help@impending.com we’ll also get some more details and log files to look into.
