The upcoming Clear Pro update will also be introducing a “How To” section to the app.
As you know, we strive for minimal on-screen clutter when it comes to Clear’s design. In large part, this is accomplished using its trademark gestures. Once these gestures are realized and become muscle memory, use of Clear becomes a very fluent experience. But in the pursuit of minimalism, these gestures are largely hidden functions - too easy to overlook or miss. After new user testing and hearing a lot of feedback here, we’re aiming to add a reference guide in-app to cover them all.
Below is the full documentation we’ve written up so far. We’re starting with text only, but plan to layer on some demo video clips soon to help illustrate the gestures visually.
Let us know your thoughts, particularly if any of the wording is confusing or overwhelming. We’re also curious which of the features outlined here are most “under-the-radar” for you all, so chime in if you discover anything while looking through!
There is also such a gesture, maybe someone did not know about it, there are elements in your list, and if you need to write a new one, and, let’s say, it should be somewhere in the middle between the elements, then we just try to push the area between these elements with two fingers, thereby creating a new area for writing the element between them.
I wonder if it might be cleaner and easier to just link to an external doc or well-designed webpage instead of putting all that in the app itself? Just a thought.
Ohh how did we forget pinch to insert, one of my favorites. Thanks for the catch.
@r1y3 I like having it in the app I think, maybe we can consider letting people archive it or something? If people find it annoying sitting on home level.
Yes, it’s very surprising that they didn’t integrate this gesture for themselves, clear is just shocked in terms of gestures and thus makes it unique all these years.
