How do I go back?

Hi. Please excuse what is a dumb question. I turned off the back button, and now can’t figure how to go back- I can’t exit the New in 2.3 page.

One word: Pinch!

Duh! Thanks!

You can additionally swipe down until the “card” begins to slide to navigate back!

Reviving this old thread because I just realised something:

It has gradually dawned on me that there is a gesture that may have arrived on the iPhone years ago: Swipe from the edge of the screen. I am discovering that a great many apps that I have been using for a long time recognize this gesture, as being separate from placing the finger inside the screen and swiping. So from-the-edge swiping can be used for moving between pages (or tabs) of an app, while other swipes interact with items on the screen.

Maybe clear could use this? I suggest swiping right from the left edge of the screen to go back, that is up a level. I think it’s more natural than the pinch maneuver. And you could swipe left from the right edge to go down into the same list you came out of, if that is desirable.

As more apps are doing something similar, it may come naturally to many users. Also, swipe down from the top or up from the bottom has been used by the OS for such a long time, the notion must be very familiar to most by now.
