They will need to install the app first. Then once that is installed it can load up the callback URL from the “claim gift” link.
Best new feature by far is the invisible back button. When I take a screenshot of a list though, it shows the “text-only” version in the middle but I can’t actually select it since the invisible button covers it
Ah right, doh. Adding a note here to fix that in 2.0.2 or 3, it should let you tap through in that context.
I can appreciate the rationale behind the new direction. Hoping it works out well for Clear long term.
Functionally the (iPhone) app is basically one for one for me from v1 to v2 - besides the big one, sync, which isn’t a dealbreaker for me personally. I gather the iPad version has changed too - I don’t know. Without sync there’s no value in me using the iPad app so I deleted it immediately. Loving the invisible back button.
[Context for the following: I have an iPhone X and will go to the grave before I use anything bigger, lmao]
Visually it’s a mixed bag. I don’t like San Francisco’s font weight (looking forward to that 2.0.1 update) and I find the medium and large font settings comically huge; small borderline comical, and tiny the only usable choice. Some finer granularity at the smaller end of the font size spectrum would be nice but tiny is fine for me. The relative size (and padding) of the “My Lists” list font is still too large for my taste even at tiny font size.
A bunch of the unlockable themes have such insanely-low contrast I can’t imagine anyone using them, but I don’t mind, I have a theme I’m happy with.
All in all though, I’m okay with the update. Hopefully sync and the iPad app will return in time.
I like this idea too. I would love to be able to buy the two missing pieces (the Purple Dragon theme, and the Cat Facts pack) that make my Clear experience… Mine.
I don’t want them for free, or for them to migrate, but until I get them, I feel I can’t begin using the app properly like I did with the beta.
I would love some sort of “OPEN SHOP DAY BUY WHATEVER YOU WANT” as one special occasion, with all items being available for a limited time, but I get how this would make drops not as effective in the long term.
For me, Regular is showing 4% (this is day 4 since launch) and Transcended is at 1%. The percentage is rounded so give it another couple of days.
This didn’t work for me when I sent clear to my mom. She installed the app and it also couldn’t open the gift link. @phillryu
Actually, it worked in the end. First couple of times it was reporting an error but after like couple of times it worked.
I unlocked all 10 Gift clear rewards. Send the link to different friends and as soon as they download the app, you’ll get your reward.
Ah thanks. I hate it. Too easy to delete & then have to restore. Old way much better.
Thanks! For me it’s space-colon at the end of a line that works, but anyway that’s awesome, great tip!
A post was merged into an existing topic: iCloud not working
It won’t show 1% until you’ve achieved 3 days’ worth of that task (as the total target is 300 days). Your other counter is at 2% for a total 100-day task, so assume you’ve done two days’ activity
@phillryu One idea that I have, if possible, for the future updates: pin by default the Current Theme Icon on top of all other unlocked/bought icons in Icons settings instead of burying it all the way down as you unlock/buy new icons.
It’s not perfect, we shipped this version towards the end so we had something vs. no reminders. The main reason it was changed is because I always felt “Add reminder” text and option every single time you add an item was never in line with Clear’s quieter side. So this is a more ‘there when you need it’ take.
Yeah I don’t want to get too wonky with sorting behavior, but I hear you with that one. We will also generally do something as your collections grow over time. (Perhaps let you archive ones you use less, maybe let you save ‘loadouts’ of sets etc.)
The ‘add reminder’ text did add clutter and I frequently pressed it accidentally when trying to edit the first few words of the note. A more hidden, use-when-needed reminder is definitely preferable.
Granted, this is probably a “version 3“ feature, but being able to set/override my “loadout“ for each list? That would be amazing.
If just my shopping list was a cheerful spring green, it might make the hand-to-hand combat at Costco during the snow months easier to handle.
Yeah your criticism of the swipe/checking off overlap is valid so it does still bother me as imperfect, but hopefully there’s room for improvement/refinement in the future.
